Sting Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, half of all men and one-third of all women in the U.S. will develop
cancer during their lifetimes. To help combat this unsettling statistic, Preble High School students and
faculty in the Sting Cancer group are taking action. To raise awareness on the impact of cancer and to
support finding a cure, Sting Cancer is asking community members to support "Wear Yellow Day" at local
workplaces, organizations and schools on Friday, May 11.
Wear Yellow Day - Friday, May 11, 2012
An idea that originated from Sting Cancer, Wear Yellow Day allows businesses and establishments in
Wisconsin to show support by wearing yellow. Sting Cancer will accept any monetary donations,
raffle and silent auction items, and will be selling yellow t-shirts. T-shirts may be ordered
in bulk and will be delivered one week prior to Wear Yellow Day; otherwise they will be available
for pick up at Preble High School, 2222 Deckner Avenue. T-shirts are $8, and will be on sale
May 3, 4 and 7-10 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Preble.
For more information on the Sting Cancer group, sponsoring or donating to Wear Yellow Day, or
purchasing t-shirts, contact Nick Nesvacil at nwnesvacil@gbaps.org. All proceeds from t-shirt sales
will be used to purchase gas cards and gift cards for distribution in weekly gift baskets to current cancer patients.
